About Me

Nick Barbero

Welcome

My name is Nick Barbero, and I am a Portland, Oregon-based marketing professional currently seeking my next challenge in the advertising and media space. I am looking to apply my experience in campaign execution and strategic communication to help a forward-thinking team grow, and I am actively pursuing in-person, hybrid, or remote opportunities in major US cities.

I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and a minor in Audio Production. Through the School of Journalism and Communication, I gained hands-on experience in campaign management, graphic creation, collaborating within cross-functional teams, and many other core industry practices. This allowed me to develop the strategic and creative skills necessary to drive brand growth and deliver high-impact results in an eventual, professional environment.

Since graduating I've mostly focused on the advertising and marketing side of things but I've really been wanting to bring my audio production background back into the fold. While I still want to continue down the advertising and marketing path, I'd love to jump back into the studio where I can combine my professional experience with that genuine passion. I've spent the last few years staying on top of results and testing different creative designs to see what gets the best response from customers. It would be a dream come true to find a position where I can use that marketing mindset to support audio projects and bring those two worlds together.

My experience covers lots of areas, whether its from managing campaigns and creating content to segmenting audiences and optimizing emails. I am looking for roles such as:

Whether I am diving into a CRM or troubleshooting a drop in engagement, I balance the technical data with the story behind it because I want to know what the numbers mean for the brand and how we can use them to make things better. I thrive in fast-paced environments where I can take full ownership of my projects and use that high-output mindset to drive consistent results and improve performance every day.

Outside of work, I love following sports. Whether I'm at Providence Park for a Timbers match, at the Rose Quarter for the Blazers, or waking up early to watch Manchester United, I enjoy the energy and community it brings. I've also become a big jersey collector, picking up kits whenever I can. When I'm not watching a game, I'm usually working on a new Lego set or buying a certain team's jersey.

I love to learn new tools also. A great example of this is learning to use Claude Code to build this website you are on right now! Despite me having no prior experience in web development or coding at all, I was able to create an account, learn the tool, and launch this website in just two weeks. I believe this reflects my overall approach to work where I enjoy diving into a resource, learning it quickly, and making it work for me to solve problems resulting in better results.
